Ever feel like throwing in the towel during a particularly gruelling workout?
I know I have.
But you’ll be less inclined to prematurely raise the proverbial white flag with these motivational workout towels from Words to Sweat By.
The towels are the creation of California entrepreneur Dana Lardner, owner of Whimsical Walney in San Jose.
As a fitness-conscious writer, I love the concept.
Some of the other catchy mantras available from Words to Sweat By include: There will be no jiggle in my wiggle, Carpe Dumbbells, and Squat is a four-letter word.
As the story goes, the inspiration behind Words to Sweat By came from Lardner’s observations at her local gym.
“I’m not a big fan of gym-branded towels so I’ve always brought my own from home. I like to ‘people watch’ and during my workouts I noticed a pattern among gym members, so many were expressing themselves and their goals on their hats, shirts and bags, but every single towel was plain and boring,” Lardner says in a press release.
“While some people like to make bold statements about what they hope to achieve, there are others who like to be a little more subtle. Both types of people need a towel so I thought, ‘Why not add some levity and inspiration?’ I created Words to Sweat By for people who want a little motivation and humour in their workouts, but don’t want to shout it from the rooftops. ”
And soon after, the clever company was born.
Words to Sweat By has since expanded from towels to other products such as T-shirts, key chains, note cards and jewelry.
