Neither Mike Brown nor Colton Orr practised with the Maple Leafs on Wednesday morning at the MasterCard Centre.
Brown suffered an upper-body injury during a fight with the Buffalo Sabres’ Mike Weber on Tuesday night. He did not return after suffering the injury.
Orr might have been given a maintenance day, something that is not uncommon.
Back at practice were forward Clarke MacArthur and defenceman Mike Komisarek. MacArthur missed the 4-3 overtime win in Buffalo after losing a fingernail against the New York Rangers last Saturday.
Komisarek, coach Randy Carlyle said, suffered an eye injury at the end of practice on Monday, and that was the reason for his absence in Buffalo.
But Komisarek practised without a visor.
The Leafs begin a three-game home stand on Thursday night when the Washington Capitals visit the Air Canada Centre. The Boston Bruins visit on Saturday and the Carolina Hurricanes hit Toronto on Monday.
The Leafs, 0-2 at the ACC, are one of three NHL teams — Pittsburgh and Nashville are the others — without a win on home ice.
