Kadri, MacArthur enjoying each other’s company

TAMPA — No need for Matt Frattin to hurry back from knee trouble.
Nazem Kadri has formed a good partnership with Clarke MacArthur.
The two teamed up for a pretty goal on Monday night in a 3-0 win against the Florida Panthers in Sunrise, and it’s clear there’s a mutual admiration between the two.
“The first couple of years you see the talent level, but it is tough to put it together in the NHL,” MacArthur said of Kadri. “You have to get that confidence. He is getting better every day now. He has to keep working at it. He has so much skill and huge upside to him. He is great to play with you get a lot of chances.”
Said Kadri: “We have had great chemistry so far and we have to make sure we stay consistent.”
And let’s not forget the third member of the line, Colton Orr. His physical presence opens up some space for MacArthur and Kadri.
“He is a big body and he is patrolling everything out there,” Kadri said. “Me and Clarke are just kind of free-wheeling and trying to make plays, and also finishing hits, because we know no one is probably going to come up and talk to us with him on the ice.”
The Leafs will take on the Lightning on Tuesday night before heading home to play host to the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.
The Leafs are 7-2-0 on the road in nine games, their best road start since 1940-41, when they went 7-2-0 as well.
“We are feeling pretty good right now, but it is important after each game to hit the reset button and get back to work,” Kadri said.
