Last week I told you about how you cannot trust the consensus media, the press pack.
I told you they run in a pack and all support the same things, hate the same things – normally Sun News and anything vaguely conservative.
Well what is great about these guys is that they keep proving me right. I tell you they don’t get stories straight, ignore certain things, push an agenda and they all run around as if I’ve just given them orders and they prove me right.
There were a couple of media outlets that did eventually write about the CBC porn issue – and don’t worry, we will not show you the video again and we won’t dwell on that issue today – but just like when I was showing that CBC was ignoring the access to information law, they only write about the CBC porn issue as a way to attack us.
Nothing to see at CBC, but have you seen what the non-state broadcaster is doing.
Maher accused our parent company, Quebecor, of having its own porn channel and implying this is why Sun News did the story.
No, we did the story because the state broadcaster was using your tax dollars to import inappropriate content from France and making it freely available to children.
This is wrong on so many levels but Maher can’t see them as he seeks to attack Sun News and protect the CBC.
Other media outlets which did not cover our original story and have not since did not waste time in showing their support for Maher. They tweeted about his story, shared it.
Hmmm.
Why would they do that? Because they all love and protect the CBC.
After some back and forth online with one of our corporate Twitter accounts, Mhar posted this online.
@QuebecorMedia Your business is your business, but Sun TV is pushing politicians to go after CBC, so your business becomes more newsworthy.
Pushing politicians to go after CBC. Weird.
Maher’s own writing has pushed politicians to go after stimulus spending, to go after the military. Did the consensus media start looking into his biases or potential biases? Did they delve into what his employer looked into?
No, because while you can challenge any department you cannot challenge CBC.
Well, that’s not wholly true. You also cannot challenge pensions. I’ve pointed out the lies, falsehoods, stretches of truth and misrepresentations put out about the government’s announcement that it will look for changes in the pension system.
Well in a really weird interview this past weekend on CTV’s Question Period, their senior political reporter, an elder statesman of the gallery and former canoeing buddy of Pierre Trudeau, Craig Oliver got his facts completely wrong.
In an interview where he kept claiming the government was cutting pensions he dropped this doozy.
“Are you comfortable about, in effect, pitting the poorest of the poor, these are the people who need old age security, and they need
guaranteed income supplements, is that something you personally are comfortable with?
Old Age Security pays out partial payments until people are making $112,000 a year and Oliver calls this pitting the poorest of the poor?
The average working Canadian earns about $47,000 a year and helps pay for seniors earning $69,000 a year who are sent cheques for $540 a month despite having an income almost one and a half times what working Canadians make.
But that’s okay, it serves the purpose of scaring people about the big bad Conservatives. Helps Liberals doesn’t it.
If you missed the Source with Ezra Levant earlier, make sure you watch it right after this because he looks at another paid up member of the consensus media.
Professor John Miller, an instructor at Ryerson University for 23 years, a 20 year veteran of the Toronto Star, founding editor of the Sunday Star and a “media expert” in Canadian courts has compared us Sun News folks to terrorists.
You’ll recall Freedom Weekend – that event where you can head to Ontario’s cottage country to hang out with me, Ezra, Adler, Coren, Akin and the rest – well Miller says we are just like terrorists for going up there.
“The last time a group of ideological warriors went north to train in the backwoods and plot to storm Parliament, blow up the CBC, seize the airwaves and spread terror across the land. Oh yeah, the Toronto 18 did that. Didn’t police arrest the lot of them and call them the gravest threat to our democracy?
I think a weekend with Ezra and friends could be something just like that.
The only thing that sets them apart from the Muslim extremists is that Sun Media will be charging you admission.”
Ladies and gentleman, that is the moderate voice of a nutbar that has been training young journalists for more than 20 years.
Kinda sums up all the reasons why you can’t trust the consensus media.
And that’s the Byline.
