I’ve been saying for some time that the Quebec protests are about overthrowing the government and democracy, this isn’t about tuition anymore.
Now we have this story announcing that “Charest mort aux pieds de Khadir” or Charest dead at the feet of Khadir.
That’s what you are seeing in the photo above.
Amir Khadir, the far left member of the Quebec legislature is the man portrayed in the top hat, Premier Jean Charest is dead at his feet. On the other side of this image a Montreal police officer lays dead.
Welcome to Quebec’s revolutionary summer.
The news of this poster, which apparently was created some time ago, comes just after the weekend that saw the street thugs claiming to speak for students, out giving Nazi salutes.
I don’t really care that the protesters and supporters claim the salutes were sarcasm, it’s a dumb move.
So how did Khadir react to the front page of Le Journal de Montreal showing the disturbing image with him standing over a dead Charest? He said it was just a parody and that he found it funny. Oh, but he might sue the newspaper.
And this man is the co-leader of a political party in Quebec.
None of this will help calm down the tense situation on the streets of Montreal. I expect more violence on the streets this summer and I don’t think it will be started by the police.
I really don’t know why Prime Minister Stephen Harper is being so mean! Why won’t he just do what Germany’s ambassador and NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair have suggested and send Canadian ta dollars to the IMF to bail out Europe.
On second thoughts, let’s keep our money and send them Mulcair.

The report in Monday’s Sun about the confusion surrounding remuneration in Ontario’s agencies, boards and commissions (ABCs) just underscores how badly the whole approach needs an overhaul.
It also underscores just how lazy our politicians are.
The report was about the wide berth of pay members of ABCs receive. But it also showed – through interviews with Liberal, PC and NDP politicians – just how little anyone has been keeping tabs on these unwieldy entities. Read more…
