I think it’s wonderful that you are taking on this issue, Brian. It is patently discriminatory.
Just a brief comment: there is no such thing as “reverse” discrimination — it’s all just discrimination, regardless of who’s doing it. “Reverse” discrimination implies that it’s only “discrimination” when whites, or men, practice it. Racism is not something that whites do to other races, it is, of course, discriminatory practices based on race, regardless of who is on the perpetrating or receiving end.
Real equality before the law, real equal opportunity is the best path, of course, and would produce the best outcomes. It would reduce many problems caused by “entitlement,” and would even become a policy that all groups would be proud of as they see it practiced with absolute unwavering impartiality. We enjoy the conceit of Canada being a country and society that believes in “equality,” but we don’t actually *practice* it. We give it only lip-service.
I strongly agree with your position on rights, liberty, and equality. Thanks for doing what you do and speaking out so well.
