Brian. Great segment. Just to be clear of destroying the data. Stores who have the CFO ledger contains non-restricted and restricted entries intermixed. These stores, according to C19, must go through every page and somehow destroy those entries of long guns. Now, do they black them out with a marker, or do they rewrite only the restricteds into a new ledger, or completely destroy everything? Some are claiming C19 removes the requirement for the complete ledger.

This is a welcome development on many levels but the most important is that the Harper government has started dealing with th rank insubordination in bureaucracy which has plagued them since they formed government.

We can only hope they have the good sense to use this crack down on insubordination to repmove a lot of bureaucrats who are not ideologically aligned with the governments agendas.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if nothing more happens.

Kudos to the Sun who drove this issue home. You’ve done more for acheiving civil justice for firearms owners in a few short months than all the pro gun NGOs have in 19 years.

Yes, this is good news but still too early to think the war has been won. We all need to thank SNN and Brian especially for keeping the government’s feet to the fire on this. Without that it is very likely that the federal government would have just ignored this backdoor attempt by these agenda-driven bureaucrats. I cannot stress enough that these “police chiefs” are political and too often push an agenda that is at odds with the rank-and-file. It is akin to the difference between union bosses and union members.

Shane: “A gun is a tool, Marian; no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.”
