The books my boys wouldn’t put down

- August 27th, 2012

I spent last week at a cabin in the wilds of Quebec. My kids could swim, canoe and even go sailing thanks to a friend who brought his boat. Instead my sons wanted to read.

Now I’m not complaining, I love them reading especially since I’m normally having to convince them that they can survive without a computer game. I actually had to take the books away and tell them to ride their bikes or get in a canoe for much of the week.

So what books had captured their attention?

Michael Vey.

There are two books in the series, Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 and Michael Vey 2: Rise of the Elgen. We are trying to nail down a time to speak with the author on Byline but any book that can get my boys reading like this is a good thing. And unlike other books aimed at this same age group, there is nothing for parents to worry about.

Video trailer and links to the books on Amazon are below.
