The United Nations is meeting for its General Assembly this week and once again some of my favourite thugs will get to speak. We’ll get to hear from Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe, two men that should never be allowed into polite company.
We’ll also get to hear from Egypt’s Mohamed Morsi who let violent riots fester and who thinks Sharia law is an exportable feature of the Arab spring.
Big on the agenda for UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is the question of Syria and the ongoing violence there, a violence the UN has failed to stop in the most glaring example of UN failure.
I’ve made my views on the UN clear for some time, Canada should leave this corrupt body. Unfortunately our government isn’t there yet. They are thankfully no longer slavishly heaping praise on the UN the way many Canadians used to but they aren’t ready to pull the plug.
So what can we expect at the UN this week?
Well we can expect US President Barack Obama to apologize to the Muslim world again, a spokesman saying he will make it clear that the Obama administration does not support the movie.
We’ll also get to hear Amadinejiddy rant and rave about “the Zionist entity” as he calls Israel.
Thankfully no Hugo Chavez.
But that’s the big ticket items, the speeches and the bilateral meetings between leaders. Oh and by the way, while Obama doesn’t have time to meet with Israel’s leader, Prime Minister Harper will meet Israel’s PM, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Friday morning.
But behind the scenes the UN, which really does consider itself the world’s government, will run through an agenda which contains such stunning items as the UN’s role in a Culture of Peace and they will talk about peace university.
Hmm, not a lot of peace in Syria lately. And all those riots and anti-American sentiment calls for killings and revenge. Oh, and then there is Iran.
I don’t think the UN is doing very well there.
Also on their agenda. Item #16:
“The role of the United Nations in promoting a new global human order.”
Now I don’t know about you but that sounds creepy. I’m not sure what they mean but it sounds creepy.
Then there is this:
“Integrated and coordinated implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic, social and related fields.”
Sounds like they want to make sure that countries are following UN directives on how to operate. It almost sounds like what I talk about regarding the UN Agenda 21. But it’s not because that gets its own agenda entry:
“Implementation of Agenda 21, the Programme for the Further Implementation of Agenda 21 and the outcomes of the World Summit on Sustainable Development and of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development;”
Agenda 21 is just one of the many environmental items on the agenda of the General Assembly and I should point out that I’m not reading from the agenda of some small sub-committee from the committee on global spookiness, no this is from the UN General Assembly agenda.
The world is on fire, Syria is in a state of civil war, the Middle East and North Africa, Pakistan and elsewhere are experiencing riots and unrest, China and Japan are looking like they are headed for a clash either militarily or economically and the UN is looking for ways to get more power?
It was supposedly created to stop war, it doesn’t do that but they do think they can push a global planning agenda on you.
I haven’t even made it to the part of the agenda where the UN talks about how to hand over East Jerusalem to the Palestinians and other matters related to Ahmadinjiddy’s favourite topic, the Zionist entity.
I could go on but I’d be belabouring the point.
It is time for Canada to leave the UN, time to dismantle the UN. As you hear reports on what happens at the global body this week ask yourself whether the UN is doing the job it is supposed to do and if not, why would we consider giving it more power.
