This neat little video was put together by the folks at the Frontier Centre for Public Policy. It’s about Henry Hazlitt’s book Economics in One Lesson.

    I wonder what he would say about the “cash for heaters” program so popular with liberal governments in the 90s – where government was buying up old unregistered guns from inner city communities for big cash in an effort to “get guns off the streets”. No expense seemed too extravagant for this cause.

    The way that turned out was the people turned in broken non-functional guns for the approx. $300-$500 each and took that money to buy a newer functioning firearm, local gun runners found it hard to fill the demand, local pawn brokers were cleaned out of a lot of junk guns they were stuck with.

    Knowing he’d be dealing mostly with ideologue liberals this guy should have named his book “economics for dummies”
