Are you kidding me? Most people can barely be trusted with a toothbrush, let alone a firearm.
Seriously
Mr. West states a universal truth about civil disarmament borne out by the historic record (the real one that remains un-altered by social engineering statists). To be more historically accurate that maxim should read: “An armed man is a citizen a disarmed man is a slave” How true.
Why is the Barrie Examiner giving this wacko any space at all? We are not Florida’s 18th Congressional District neither are we Tea Partiers. Or at least I hope not. It’s bad enough there are tea-partiers in Ottawa right now fighting to claw back on our rights.
Please take note that the negative comments here appear to be the product of Freudian projection, where in the commenter projects their deepest repressed instincts onto others. Those who are morbidly afraid and who fear their own criminal urges are prone to project these traits onto others.
For the information of the gun phobics, my family has owned and used firearms for 6 generations in this country – before there were gun laws – none had killed or maimed- or hurt themselves or anyone else. Another fact they may want to ponder is that statistically and according to insurance actuaries, the police (who gun phobics want to give a monopoly on firearms possession) are by far more likely to misuse a firearm than a law abiding civilian firearms owner. Police as a profession are the highest group prone to suicide and homicide by firearms.
Something for the gun haters to chew on as they cower in the dark repressed recesses of their mind.
