May Day in New York City
May Day demonstrations kicked off this morning in Bryant Park with Occupy Wall Street, labor and immigrant activists. Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine was also on site with his Guitarmy. Here are a few pictures from the traditional march in Midtown. The epicenter is now in Union Square as you can see on that video. Organizers are expecting tens of thousands of supporters to sworn the streets in New York and across the United States. Nearly 30 protesters were arrested since this morning in Manhattan, according to the New York Times.
Dine Titanic, the making of…
On April 14, New York chefs Rob McCue and Adam Banks have recreated the last meal aboard the Titanic 100 years later as it would probably be if the ship had avoided its known fate. Here’s the making of Dine Titanic.

Here’s the scene today in SoHo as the FBI is digging in the basement of a building looking for clues that could lead to the discovery of the remains of a 6-year old boy missing since 1979. Etan Patz disappeared on Prince Street on his way to school between his parents’ apartment and the bus stop two blocks away. I am completely transfixed by this story since two days, read about it here, here and here.

Once in a Lullaby: The PS22 Chorus Story

This trailer gave my goosebumps. The film is presented during the TriBeCa Film Festival. I met the kids from New York’s Public School 22 choir two years ago (click here). They’ve sung at the White House, at the 83rd Academy Awards, serenaded Oprah Winfrey, and now the pint-sized members have their own documentary. Amazing.
Love smells…
Well, according to this great video by The Daily’s Justin Rocket Silverman. New trend?
Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway, the premiere
Director Des McAnuff surrounded by the cast and production team.
Stratford Shakespeare Festival’s revival of “Jesus Christ Superstar” premiered on Broadway last night at the Neil Simon Theatre. The rock-opera received a warm welcome from the crowd, but the New York reviews are not so warm (read about it here, here and here).
Catching the Lin fever
I finally saw my first Madison Square Garden Knicks game this week. Better late than never. After a month, the “Lin fever” has died down a little (thanks to Tim Tebow), but it is still very much present. Ask the kids. I met the basketball phenomenon in the locker room after the game. Here’s what #17 had to say:
