Hypocrisy

- August 12th, 2012

The federal Liberals, who salivate each time they uncover any backroom shenanigans by the Harper Conservatives, have proven once again that hypocrisy troubles them none.

One of the dirtiest campaigns by the Liberals, who claim total innocence in the matter, was the Vikileaks scandal where one of their operatives posted dirty details of Safety Minister Vic Toews’ rather messy divorce on a contrived Twitter account.

The culprit, Adam Carroll, was eventually caught and fired, and Bob Rae got up in the Commons to apologize to all and sundry for such skullduggery — and to Vic Toews in particular.

But what have we know learned? Well, we have since learned that Adam Carroll, the creator of Vikileaks, is back with the Liberals, and working out of their party headquarters in Ottawa.

This is Liberal hypocrisy at its finest.

Wait until the furor has subsided, wait the parliamentary committee had finished its questioning, wait until the House of Commons is no longer in session, and welcome their dirty trickster back into the fold — no doubt with high fives all around.

Flip it around. If it has been a Tory dirty trickster who was welcomed back, the media would have been in hysterics.

But, then again, what else is new?

To decry the actions of politicians using such terms as ‘hypocrisy’ , ‘dirty trickster’, and ‘skullduggery’ in an attempt to shame, or ridicule shows either an enormous amount of naivete – or an even more enormous amount of disingenuous indignation.

Considering the source – a political journalist no less – I will go for the latter.

Anyone in your position, Mr.Bonokoski, should know better than anyone that the very foundation of politics is built upon an ethos rooted in ‘hypocrisy’, ‘dirty tricks’, and ‘skullduggery’ . I’m not sure what motivated this insipid editorial comment – but it was a weak offering to be sure.

Save your disingenuous indignation for your children … and stick to real issues when writing professionally.

Stan Stan Stan… what then son??? Do we give up alltogether? I think the point is hypocracy is all in how you see it.

So am I to take it that you’re completely politically neutral?

To Stan: so you have no problem with Mr Carroll being re-employed by the Liberals because everyone knows that policians are hypocritical, use dirty tricks and skull duggery? Using your logic, it would then be ok for Germany to elect the Nazi’s to power because “everyone knows what Nazi’s are all about”.

Wow. You have a few chemical bonds misfiring in your cranium bud.

Bonokoski….keep up the indignation. Nothing will get better if we hide dirt.
