Full disclosure: I follow Tracy Anderson’s method and it’s the toughest and most effective workout I’ve ever tried. As a trainer, she’s the shit.
Fitness empress Tracy Anderson is proud to trim the bodies of big-name stars like Courtney Cox, Christy Turlington, Kirsten Dunst, and business partner Gwyneth Paltrow, but she won’t go near Girls creator and star Lena Dunham – yet.
“I send trainers to the set…But I will tell you that [Lena]’s not allowed to transform her body right now. [Girls] producer Jenni Konner is a diehard client of mine and a dear friend, so we joke, and she says, ‘You can’t transform her yet,” Anderson told New York Magazine’s fashion site The Cut.
So – Anderson could change Dunham’s body – presuming she wants it to change – but she won’t because it would mess with Lena’s character and the show. Which I guess it would? Seems like Dunham has come pretty freakin’ far with the body she’s got.
Just to be clear, Tracy has no doubt in her abilities.
“Yes, I could transform her and I could transform her character.”
Can you imagine being Dunham and reading this? Someone saying publicly – and out-of-the-blue – that they could change your body if they wanted to. How do you react to that?!
Tracy has tweeted in the past that Girls is her favourite show and told The Cut she loves it’s honesty. Err, isn’t a fair portrayal of ladies’ bodies honest?
Anderson went on to say she works with many body shapes (even Jennifer Lopez’s – gasp!) and thinks there should “be more emphasis in art and entertainment and fashion on all different body shapes.”
- Lena’s body could do with a transformation.
- Tracy is probably dying to make that happen.
- Tracy will hold off for the sake of Girls.
- Tracy thinks more body shapes should be represented in entertainment.
So long as the shape isn’t over a size six…
