These days, with the city of Ottawa hotly debating legislation that would eliminate smoking tobacco on all outdoor patios and public spaces, we used to joke that it is a less serious crime to smoke dope than cigarettes, but today comes word of two Prince Edward Island men were handed fines in a Woodstock, N.B., courtroom Tuesday after contraband cigarettes, cocaine and marijuana were found in their car. A 20-year-old pleaded guilty to possession of contraband tobacco and was fined $11,900. His partner pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and marijuana. He was fined a total of $482.50.
