Paul McCartney coming to Bluesfest?

- April 30th, 2010

Sources have told me that the city and Bluesfest are negotiating to bring Paul McCartney to Ottawa sometime between July 6-18. The 67-year-old McCartney is touring Mexico in May, and does a couple dates in the U.K. in June, but has nothing posted after that.
I’ll let you know as soon as I hear.

Why would you start this kind of gossip?? We all know that Sir Paul will never agree on something like this especialy our boring Bluesfest .

Get Real ands stop promoting BS to Canadian people.

  2. BK Joe says:

Bluesfest is Boring? you sir are a PLUG. this year features three major preformers from Woodstock 69, as well as many premier artists from this current generation.
As for Sir Paul, he wont come to Bluesfest, too much $$ they would have to raise the ticket prices big time to get him there.

  3. The Man ( If that is your real name ) is obviously the boring man. Bluesfest has never failed to deliver in the 15+ years I have attended. Not every act is my cup of tea but of 200+ acts there is jsut not enough of me to go around…How trite a comment indeed.

  4. The Man says:

A PLUG you say??? what are you talking about Burger King Joe?? all I`m saying is… this bluesfest cannot stand by itself without a con of a big clasic rock band, what are you talking about Joe Dirt? Ottawa is a place for scandals and even if they were the biggest bands in the world? Ottawa would slap the door on them just like they did to many other big stars coming in for a visite and bringing $$ in this boring capital of CANADUH! just looking on the news when they advertise the bluesfest its an empty park! Blues is Blues not hard rock, classic rock… KAPEECH!!!

    my 2 cents

  5. The Man says:

Whats up doc?? stay in yourt line of scams and leave the shitty blues to us…

  6. Denis Armstrong says:

No guff, Mr. Man. People at the city and the festival are talking about McCartney coming to town. I understand you being dubious because it would be a major coup for the festival. By the way, Bluesfest isn’t boring. It’s one of the best music festivals in the country.

  7. The Man says:

Mr Denis ArmStrong, If this ottawa bluesfest is not inviting out of this country big world acts it will crumble to peices just like our politicians plain & simple ,like last year. what was the major attraction to the Bluesfest???? its wasn`t blues, jazz, hophop, disco it was KISS hard rock KISS and this so called city screwed it up with insults to the band leader Gen Simmons wife Shannon Tweed ,KISS made the bluefest stand on their toes and without KISS it would of died earlyer or even went bankrupt this year so Please stop! we are not all gullible like you and other who has been disapointed won`t be there … it won`t happend .

  8. Jay says:

There was a fair amount of major acts last year just as this year.As for calling it a boring festival it is anything but its in the 10 in terms of beeing the best in the world and this year could be the best yet.

  9. Jay says:

    To The Man
Come on yes kiss is a good act but it did not save bluesfest. There is about 80 acts last year that were mid to big acts that really did help the fest. This year already there is about 100 acts that wre mid to big acts so by your logic with out a mega band they would go bankrupt is 100% false.

  10. DMB Fan 77 says:

Bluesfest is one of the biggest festivals in North America. If you seriously think Kiss was the biggest act last year then I understand where you are coming from. I guess it’s not your fault your understanding of great music is limited… It’s just too bad for you Man.

Every year I have to juggle between the 20 to 30 different bands I want to see and the only thing that sucks is that sometimes they overlap each other. Paul would definately be awesome but seriously? As soon as Denis said the city was involved I knew it was a bust… heck they are going to hire analysts to see if it’s possible and then when they are told it is they are going to hire more analysts to analyse the analysts. We all know how this City works now… If it wasn’t for Bluesfest this city would choke… like our Sens.

    Mr Armstrong,

Please ignore the foolish taunting by an obvious 8 year old, who was somehow able to sneak in some ‘web time’ before Mommy made him nap.

Nice use of grammar and spelling ‘ The Man’ — perhaps we should call you ‘ The ILLITERATE Man’?

  12. The Man says:

Mr Armstrong?? this is how you treat your commenter`s? i`m a french speaking person, maybe my spelling is a bit rough but hey!! i try, you have no rights defaming my language, treating me like this?? you mr Armstrong you are an I-D-I-O-T plain & simple is this the way you try to get ratings to go up a knotch?? or is it for your own pleasures?? I`d like to hear your french typing accent so we can get a good laugh opp`s! your english speaking you can`t speak french i forgot.now who`s ILLITERATE here A-HOLE

Thanks for your insults i`ll make sure to post it on my blog and show Ottawain`s what the Ottawa Sun is really about how big of an i-d-i-o-t you are, bashing the french language??? your ignorance against french speaking people??

  13. The Man says:

  14. DMB Fan 77 says:

Come on guys… let’s take a breather here. There is no point in resorting to name calling and what not. Music is supposed to bring people together. I know it’s a religion for some people but there’s no use in starting a war over it. So let’s just drop it and cross our fingers that Monahan will be able to pull something off here.

Did anyone else hear anything about some big announcement being made on Monday by the radio stations?

Bonne Journee and Have a nice day.

  15. Jay says:

    To The Man
In fact there is more that discriminate aginst english speaking only then french.

  16. Keither says:

It’s people like “The Man” that create this “French/English war” over language. CapeBretonerInOttawa said nothing about your French language, he just mentioned you had bad grammar. I know plenty of English people with bad grammar, I also know plenty of French people with bad grammar. Maybe you can also explain why he is a “RAT” because I don’t see any reasoning behind that statement. I mean it’s not like he went and told your Mom about your inappropriate name calling and general resentment toward Mr. Armstrong, Bluesfest, and English-speaking Canadians……….It’s people like you pulling the bi-lingualism and discrimination card that are making a bad reputation for people like me, a bi-lingual Canadian.
To the English-speaking people: please do not pass judgment towards the bi-lingual community based on comments by A-Holes like “the Man”. He represents maybe 1/1000th of the demographic.
