The hockey world is up in arms.
Oh, the injustice. Mika Zibanejad has not been recalled.
The dumbest theory: He played the role of DJ for charity in the summer. He did it for charity folks and I don’t think he did it without the club’s blessing.
He’s not here cause he had a lousy camp.
He’s not here cause he didn’t perform well.
People thinking this is a financial decision are odd.
He is on an entry level deal. He has alreay been paid a signing bonus so the savings are minimal. Derek Grant makes $605,000 while Zibanejad is scheduled to make $950,000.
The Senators aren’t happy with Zibanejad. They want him to learn a lesson. They want him to ride the bus. They want him to smell the gas fumes. Last weekend he went 9 hours to Norfolk.
Everybody seems to forget that Erik Karlsson spent a couple of months in the minors. It did him good. He learned that an NHL job has to be earned. This is what they are doing with Zibanejad.
They weren’t happy with him when they sent him down. To put it mildly they were pretty upset. He’ll be back here. I have no doubt and he’ll be a good player in the NHL. He just has to be a bit patient and so does the fanbase. #FreeMika will happen. It will just take a bit more time.
