Where Waves Go to Die at Olympic Opening

- July 27th, 2012

Thane Burnett and media gathered for Olympic opening ceremony

While I don’t want to spoil any surprises by trying to capture a bad picture of the stadium stage, here at least gives you an idea of the vantage point taken by members of the media.

Many of us are positioned on banks of writing desks, with the best view of the stadium.

What you can’t see, are the waves started by regular ticket holders who have already taken their seats.

The loud waves roll along their rows of seats, as they cheer, only to come crashing into sections occupied by the stuffy media.

Once here, most journalists are too busy writing to notice or wave their arms, and the wave dies.

Sending boos throughout the stadium.

We are such killjoys.
