CanadaScreens.ca highlights the best of homegrown cinema

- April 15th, 2015

Get ready for the best in Canadian cinema, thanks to a new video on demand service called CanadaScreens.ca.

On April 16, Cancon cheerleaders First Weekend Club launch CanadaScreens.ca to make the best of homegrown cinema accessible for all. Hit films such as The Sweet Hereafter, Goon, A Dangerous Mind, The F Word, Fubar, Incendies, The Whistleblower and Maps to the Stars, among many others, will be available for viewing.

The service will be curated by some of the country’s top filmmakers and actors, so you can check out which knowledgeable person — the list includes Tatiana Maslany, Sarah Polley, Jason Priestly, Sarah Gadon, Guy Maddin and Michael Dowse — handpicked the movie you choose to see.

CanadaScreens.ca involves a lot more than just watching great movies. The service aims at audience involvement with talent interviews and behind the scenes footage, and via online engagement with Q & A sessions featuring industry insiders.

Rental fees start at $3.99, and titles may also be purchased.
