Watch: Brittany Murphy’s final movie trailer ‘Something Wicked’

- April 1st, 2014

Four years after her death, the trailer for Brittany Murphy’s final movie has been released.

The clip, for the indie thriller Something Wicked, features young couple Christine and James (John Robinson and One Tree Hills’ Shantel VanSanten) taunted by a stalker after surviving a fatal car accident. Murphy plays a psychiatrist who becomes clearly rattled in a clip near the end of the trailer, with mascara running down her face and warning, “There’s evil in this house. I saw it with my own eyes.”

The movie was filmed in 2009, the year Murphy died of pneumonia and drug intoxication,  and according to producer/screenwriter Joe Colleran, contains some of her best work.

“There’s an important scene where her character is unraveling and she spent a long time getting ready and focused and went for it,” Colleran told USA Today in 2011. “Personally, I think it’s one of the best scenes of her career.”

Something Wicked will premiere in Eugene, Ore. – where it was filmed – on April 4 and will open in Portland and Seattle, WA. and other west coast U.S. cities in the coming weeks.

According to the movie’s official Facebook page, a wider release will depend on fan reaction and word of mouth.

The film also stars Pretty Little Liars’ Julian Morris.

Bradley Cooper proves Louis C.K. dead wrong

- March 20th, 2014

Comedian Louis C.K. is a smart guy who usually makes a lot of sharp, accurate observations. Just not this time.

In a mash-up video, posted to Reddit, Louis complains about the young, would-be famous actors he sees on Inside the Actors Studio.

In the chat, originally recorded in 2008 with British comic Stephen Merchant, Louis has some bad news for the acting students who take part in the Q&A portion of the show to ask advice on how to make it in Hollywood.

“It always occurs to me, you know when an actor stands up in the audience and says, ‘I’m an actor, what can I do?’ and asks Sean Penn or whoever. ‘What can I do to reach your level, or whatever,” he said to Merchant. “And you just want to say, ‘That’s it. You’ll never be famous. You’ll never be famous. There’s no way you asked Sean Penn a question and then you’re gonna be huge.’”

Cue the clip of Bradley Cooper asking Sean Penn a question on Inside the Actor’s Studio back in 1999.

Cooper beat the odds after all:

Cooper and Louis C.K. most recently worked together in American Hustle. Cooper played Richie DiMaso, the wild, ambitious undercover agent to Louis C.K.’s buzzkill Stoddard Thorsen.

Watch this hilarious ‘Love Actually 2’ fake trailer

- December 12th, 2013

Maybe a Love Actually sequel isn’t such a good idea after all.

The star-studded holiday movie – which marks its 10th anniversary this year – gets the parody treatment in this mash-up trailer for Love Actually 2.

The video weaves together various clips of the Love Actually characters in more recent  roles, including The Walking Dead (Andrew Lincoln), The King’s Speech (Colin Firth) Harry Potter (Emma Thompson) The Hobbit (Martin Freeman) and  Taken (Liam Neeson) among others – and makes them seem like new rom-com plot lines.

And, of course, what would a romantic comedy trailer be without the music of Natalie Cole’s  This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) playing in the background?

One thing is for sure, this movie has much more zombie killings than the original.

Watch the result here.

‘This is the End’ trailer a celebrity zoo

- April 5th, 2013

If box office dollars were measured in celebrity cameos, then “This is the End” would set records.

The long-awaited end-of-the-world comedy, written and directed by Seth Rogen and “Superbad” pal Evan Goldberg, is getting attention thanks to a new extended trailer that features a who’s who of Hollywood – getting brutally killed in the apocalypse.

The principal cast is enough to get some butts in the theatre seats. It teams Judd Apatow proteges Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, and James Franco together with Danny McBride and “Office” star Craig Robinson.

The premise seems simple enough: The guys play themselves. They are all in Los Angeles (Baruchel looks like he’s just visiting) when the apocalypse hits during one of Franco’s celebrity-filled house parties.

The rest of the trailer sees Seth, Jay and crew trying to survive in a new world overtaken by aliens and fire.

But check out the stars in turmoil:

We see Mindy Kaling, Jason Segel, and a cocaine-fueled Michael Cera at the party; Rihanna swallowed up by a sinkhole, comic Aziz Ansari begging for his life, and Emma Watson  resorting to burglary for survival.

According to IMDB, Paul Rudd and comedian Kevin Hart are also attached to the movie, but are not in the trailer.

“This is the End” opens in theatres June 12.

Have a look at the trailer below and let me know what you think.

The film is actually based on the 2007 short film “Jay and Seth Vs. The Apocalypse”, starring Rogen and Baruchel alone in a room  together, driving  each other crazy. And it’s hilarious:

‘Iron Man 3’ opens in theatres May 3.
