It was just last month that Adele was reported as the latest Bond theme singer.
Today, she confirmed she will be crooning the song during the opening credits of Skyfall when she posted a photo of her hand on a cover of sheet music on Twitter.
The cover bears her name (A. Adkins), producer Paul Epworth and composer J.A.C. Redford.
Sounding, positively Bond-like, the orchestra-drenched audio clip that has appeared online points to 007′s early days. It also portends to Skyfall being star Daniel Craig’s last appearance as Bond. “For this is the end,” the Grammy-winning star sings seductively.
Daniel Craig, end? Say it ain’t so?
Skyfall is Craig’s third outing as Britain’s favourite spy. This time out he battles villain Javier Bardem and beds Naomie Harris.
The 23rd film in the Bond franchise will be directed by Sam Mendes, and also stars Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes.
Recent Bond themes have been sung by Jack White and Alicia Keys (Quantum of Solace), Chris Cornell (Casino Royale), Madonna (Die Another Day) and Garbage (The World is Not Enough).
Being a huge fan of Bond’s opening credit sequences, I like what I hear on Adele’s Skyfall. But is it better than White and Keys’ Another Way to Die from 007′s last outing in 2008? Hmmm, not sure about that. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
