If you’re an X-Men fan, by now you know that director Bryan Singer’s Twitter account is doing heavy duty PR for next year’s Days of Future Past.

The sequel to X-Men: First Class will combine actors from the original X-Men trilogy and 2011′s ’60s-set prequel in a time travel story arc. The new film is rumoured to take place in the 1970s, so expect some funny outfits.

Nicholas Hoult will be back as Beast, and Singer’s tweet shows the character has aged a bit.

The film is currently in pre-production in Montreal with First Class stars Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender joined by Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore.

There’s still no word on whether Kelsey Grammer will reprise his role as Beast from 2006′s X-Men: The Last Stand.

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres July 18, 2014.

So excited! I loved First Class. All Superhero movies should meet this new standard.

I’m still curious to see how Singer will successfully connect First Class with the previous movies, considering certain parts of the movie contradict any connection to the “prequel”. Examples of this include Stewart as Xavier walking in X3 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Emma Frost being a teenager in the latter film, which takes place 20 years after First Class.

Unlike X-men First Class, this is a good makeup job.
