Bryan Singer has added Peter Dinklage to his star-studded X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Singer, who is currently promoting Jack the Giant Slayer, tweeted the news yesterday.

After a series of character roles, Dinklage shot to fame thanks to his role as Tyrion Lannister on the hit HBO series Game Of Thrones.

Singer didn’t announce which character he’ll be playing, but rumours have Dinklage pegged as Puck – a member of the Canadian superhero team Alpha Flight.

The film, which is a sequel to 2011′s X-Men prequel, will be based on a 1981 arc from the comic book series that has elements of time travel woven into the story. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, who all appeared in First Class, will be joined by original X-Men stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore.

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres in July 2014.
