Harrison Ford up for ‘Indiana Jones 5′

- October 10th, 2013

Attention George Lucas and Steven Spielberg: Harrison Ford is desperate for another go as Dr. Henry Jones.

And no, he doesn’t think he’s too old for that s—. Asked if he’d don the famous fedora one more time, he replied: “In a New York minute, yes.”

Ford played the swashbuckling archeologist most recently in 2008′s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

“I don’t think there is any barrier to Indiana Jones being an old fart,” Ford said while promoting Ender’s Game in an interview with The Graham Norton Show [via Digital Spy]. “I’m old enough that we don’t need [Sean] Connery any more – I’m old enough to play my own father!”

Earlier this summer, Ford told The Telegraph, “We’ve seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it’s perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to kick as much ass.”

As recently as 2011, writer George Lucas was saying he was still trying to figure out a suitable story for Indiana Jones 5. “I really haven’t found the MacGuffin (that’s the plot device for you non-Hitchcock fans) yet,” Lucas told Vulture. “I mean, I know what it’s about, but I just have to find a MacGuffin that fits into the arena we’re working in.”

Ford, now 71, also recently revealed that he’s “chatting” with director Ridley Scott about Blade Runner 2.

“I truly admire Ridley (Scott) as a man and as a director, and I would be very happy to engage again with him in the further telling of this story,” he told IGN.

The veteran actor is also rumoured to be reprising his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII.

If all these come together, that could mean a whole lotta Harrison on the big screen in the next few years.

So… what do you think? Should Ford have one more kick at the can as Indy, or should he just leave the character alone? Sound off in the comments.

Me personally, no disrespect to Crystal Skull, I want one more Indy film to send the series out on a high note. George, Steve, make it so.

Ender’s Game is out November 1. Check out the trailer below.

Indy and Marion sit on their porch, sipping lemonade, remembering when they met. Indy was working with her father Abner Revencroft. Flash back to a new, young Indy and Marion. We have some adventure in the past, that somehow affects the older, Harrison Indy so he also gets to kick butt as well. Sequel set up!

They need to return to the supernatural holy artifact McGuffin as in the first and third movies. The cross of Jesus, something like that. George and Steven can come up with something amazing on a weekend fishing trip. If they do…PLEASE DON’T RUIN IT LIKE CRYSTAL SKULL. This would definitely be the last Indy movie and the character needs to retire a hero. Long time Indy fans like me deserve that! Good Luck
