Marvel sets dates for five movies over next five years

- July 18th, 2014

Do you hear that buzzing?

That’s the sound of fanboys and girls everywhere collectively trying to figure out what the next five movies are that Marvel could have planned for their cinematic universe.

Marvel Studios made headlines once again Friday evening when they released the dates for five unannounced films that have already earned set release dates.

Here we go Marvel fanatics, prepare to scratch these dates off on your electronic calendars:

  • July 28, 2017
  • November 3, 2017
  • July 6, 2018
  • November 2, 2018
  • May 3, 2019

Although it’s difficult to speculate what these films may be at this current moment in time, I’m going to hazard at least one will be a Captain America title, one will be a third Avengers title, and one will most likely be a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel.

We already know Chris Evans has at least one more Captain America film left in his contract, and most of the Avengers cast have confirmed they’d be willing to do a third title in the series.

While I don’t have any proof to back up my Guardians of the Galaxy theory, I’d like to think that considering Marvel hasn’t released a one-off title in quite some time, Chris Pratt and friends are going to stick around for at least a second film.

The July 6 spot is the least mysterious of the bunch, however. Marvel already announced the highly anticipated Doctor Strange film would be released in 2017, and if speculation rumours are true, July 6 will be the day Doctor Strange makes his debut on movie theater screens around the world.
