Robin the Boy Wonder to be killed? Plus, another new poster for ‘Iron Man 3′

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS

Two big pieces of news for comic book fans today.

It appears DC plans to kill Batman’s sidekick, Robin the Boy Wonder, in an upcoming issue of Batman Incorporated.

The news was reported exclusively on the NY Post.

In this incarnation of the comic, which is written by Grant Morrison (The Invisibles), Batman’s 10-year-old son Damian Wayne portrays wisecracking Robin.

In the upcoming book (out Wednesday, Feb. 27), he saves the world. “He does his job as Robin,” Morrison tells the Post. “He dies an absolute hero.”

This isn’t the first time DC has killed Batman’s sidekick. In 1988, Jason Todd was offed in Jim Starlin’s Batman: A Death in the Family.

He was resurrected as the Red Hood, so perhaps Damian Wayne, who was trained by the League of Assassins, will return as well.

If you’re more of a Marvel fan, you’ll be pretty stoked with today’s tweet.

After a slew of Iron Man 3 posters featuring the big guy, War Machine, Aldrich Killian and The Mandarin, the company released a poster of a sad looking Pepper Potts.

Played by Gwyneth Paltrow, the character has been a comic foil for Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark in the previous two instalments. But this latest image shows her despondent as she holds a broken Iron Man helmet.

So far, I’m really loving these character posters.

You guys really need to be more sensitive about posting spoilers like this.

Umm, not really a spoiler. The cover of the comic has a big RIP, with the Robin “R”. Not much of a spoiler.

Everybody needs to pay attention to the comics more. Do some research once in a while with them. If you didnt know, Batman was done with Robin in the Mid 90′s. Batman only had 4 Robins in history before he went on his own. Sorry to spoil everything. The first Robin went on his own and became Nightwing if im correct, the name may be wrong im not sure but he retired from being a sidekick and became his main hero. The second Robin went out on his own on a rainy night and went up against the Joker and his female sidekick. the Joker killed the second Robin. The third Robin also grew up and retired from being a sidekick then became his own hero. The fourth Robin was a mistake. He was a she. The girl was a fan and borrowed the costume of Robin. The same night she borrowed Robin’s costume running around as him the little girl died in action not knowing what she was doing. Batman retired the Robin from then on. The others now are just reruns of the old Robins.
