If you like Johnny Depp best when he’s sporting eye makeup and cracking wise at the camera, you’re in luck. Disney has announced that a fifth instalment of its Pirates of the Caribbean franchise will be hitting theatres July 15, 2015.

It will mark Disney’s second big film coming out that year. Star Wars: Episode VII is also skedded for 2015.

Johnny had a bit of a rough ride in 2012 with his Tim Burton collab Dark Shadows failing to get the Depp faithful out to the theatres. His next film, The Lone Ranger, reunites him with Pirates director Gore Verbinski.

A director for Pirates 5 has yet to be announced, but the film will be penned by Jeff Nathanson, who helped give the world Speed 2: Cruise Control.

If you’re tastes are more of the Muppets variety, Disney has also confirmed that The Muppets 2 featuring Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell will hit screens March 21, 2014.

M:I 4 director Brad Bird will also be back in 2014 with his sci-fi film 1952. Bird, who many thought was in the running for Star Wars 7, revealed he was working on his next film with Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof on Twitter last year. The film, which is shrouded in secrecy, will star George Clooney and be released Dec. 19, 2014.

So, are you happy Depp is saddling up for another go as Captain Jack Sparrow, or should he move on? Let us know in the comments.
