‘Batman vs Superman’ rumour: Nightwing to appear, Bond girl auditions for Wonder Woman

- November 7th, 2013

So as it turns out there might be not one, but two familiar faces in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel sequel.

Latino Review is reporting that Dick Grayson aka Nightwing is rumoured to be in Batman vs. Superman.

Apparently, Warner Bros. is looking for a “young John Hawkes type,” El Mayimbe says. And that adds up to Nightwing how? Not sure I buy this one.

You’ll remember that prior to the release of The Dark Knight Rises, there were rumours that Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be playing Nightwing in Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film.

If Nolan’s iteration of Batman had continued, then that might have been a possibility (Gordon-Levitt was ‘Robin’ in the film)

And while you’re digesting the Nightwing nugget, Schmoes Know are reporting that Wonder Woman will definitely be in Batman Vs. Superman.

And Schmoes is reporting that former Bond girl Olga Kurylekno has tried out for the role.

Thor 2′s Jaimie Alexander is also rumoured to be in the running for the role.

With Batman already set to be a focal point in the new film, I’m getting a little hesitant about the possibility of these additional heroes popping up in Man of Steel 2.

I get that DC wants to set up a Justice League feature, but it might get a wee bit muddled if they start cramming the film with secondary characters. What do you think? Sound off in the comments.

Tom Cruise shows off sci-fi side in ‘Oblivion’ trailer

- December 10th, 2012

OBLIVION-POSTER

Ever wanted to see Tom Cruise in a WALL-E-type role? Well, here’s your chance. Universal has released the first trailer for Oblivion, the first of Cruise’s upcoming sci-fi double-header (he’s also starring in All You Need Is Kill in 2014).

In the film, which is being directed by Joseph Kosinski (TRON: Legacy), Cruise is on clean up duty after humans and aliens go one-on-one.

“Sixty years ago, Earth was attacked,” Cruise says. “We won the war, but they destroyed half the planet. Everyone’s been evacuated, nothing human remains.”

So, a Yankees-cap wearing Cruise is back on abandoned Earth along with Olga Kurylenko to fix up some derelict space crafts.

Like Cruise said, there’s supposed to be nothing human left, but a cigar-smoking Morgan Freeman is around to let us know that there might be more than meets the eye kicking around the planet.

Oblivion hits theaters April 26, 2013. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think in the comments.
