Next season, SNL will shine thanks to the strong female cast members. Losing Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Jason Sudekis and at some point Seth Meyers is a huge hole to fill, but I think this season saw the emergence of some very strong female cast members, and Lorne Michaels will build on that.

I hope to see Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant and Cecily Strong continue and build on their strong performances from this season, and expect Nasim Pedrad and Vanessa Bayer to carry a much bigger role with the characters they have currently. Bobby Moynihan, Kenan Thompson and Jay Pharoah have developed some really great characters as well, and these will be the guys that will carry the ball for the most part from the male cast members. The pressure will really be on Taran Killam and Tim Robinson to develop new characters and impersonations to balance out the cast.

The biggest question will be who will replace Seth Meyers on Weekend Update. I just don't see any of the remaining cast members taking the anchor desk and maintaining the same level as Meyers, but I said the same thing about Norm MacDonald when he took over, and he turned out to be one of my all time favorite Weekend update anchors.

The one thing that I am sure of is that Lorne Michael's comedic brilliance will outshine any casting deficiencies created by the departure of these 4 long time cast members. I can't wait for season 39!

I'm really going to miss Bill Hader, and Fred for that matter. SNL has seen stars depart before. Next year will just be different, but more of the same. The writers are the important ones!

Yipes....just scanned through these comments and there sure isn't a lot of love or patience for Christine's replacement Michelle Dube.

"Sit up straight", "Don't wave your arms around", "Stop wearing sleeveless", "Quit looking down at the prompters", "You're too full of yourself".

A quick show of hands...how many of you have co-hosted a nightly news broadcast?

Give Michelle a break. Sure she's not Christine Bentley, but that's no reason to bite her head off. I'm sure even Christine herself was a bit rough around the edges when she first took on her anchor role 35 years ago.

Christine Bentley left some mighty big shoes for Michelle Dube to fill. Perhaps we should all give her a chance to grow into them instead of being so critical.

Who thinks this FOX reporter is a complete Moron for congratulating someone on their show being "axed"? That's like congratulating someone on the death of a relative. Perry should have popped him in the eye "old time hockey" style.

one of the worst episodes of the season. seems like the more you anticipate a good guest on SNL the weaker the performance. Zack Galifanakis was FAR better last week. i'm not expecting much from Ben Affleck next week so it might be a decent show.

also, why mention kanye and his talentless & useless waste of oxygen, kim?

The Jennifer Aniston Look-Alike skit was my favorite out of them all. It was cool seeing Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms on the show as well. I liked Zach Galifianakis, but I am looking forward to seeing Kristen Wiig this weekend for sure. I worked a little late at DISH last night, so I set my DVR to record the show and watched it this morning. While I’m cleaning the house and watching my TV shows, I am able to pause in one room and resume in another with my DISH Hopper, so I can still be productive while catching up!

In most SNL episodes the sketches focus on the cast members and may provide the host with only a supporting part.
Vaughn's turn at hosting just followed that pattern; overall it was okay.
The Melissa McCarthy episode was just brilliant, so of course any follow up ones will seem lacking.
