Open up your mind – and your mouth – to the possibilities, Anna Silk.
As the lead character in Lost Girl, which returns for its fourth season Sunday, Nov. 10 on Showcase, Silk plays a succubus named Bo. In a promotional clip for the fourth season, Bo says, “Sometimes it’s a curse to have a kiss that kills.”
Well, you know, maybe not always. What if Bo had, say, a lay-about, no-good-nik husband who really was starting to annoy her? Just give him a little peck on the lips.
I can hear Bo subsequently saying, “I just don’t understand what happened to my husband, officer. It’s not as if I’m a succubus or anything, because they don’t exist, right?”
Well, they certainly exist in the world of Lost Girl.
Season four of the acclaimed series sees fate casting a wide shadow over the Fae world (as if that hasn’t always been the case). The line between Dark and Light Fae is blurred, causing Bo and her cohorts – Ksenia Solo as Kenzi, Kris Holden-Ried as Dyson, Zoie Palmer as Lauren, Rick Howland as Trick and K.C. Collins as Hale – to realize that regardless of the challenges they face, united they stand and divided they fall, to quote an old song.
Paul Amos returns as the Dark Fae Mesmer, Vex, and Emmanuelle Vaugier reprises her role as the Dark Fae leader, The Morrigan. The fourth season also features an impressive lineup of guest stars, including George Takei, Linda Hamilton, Mia Kirshner, Kyle Schmid and Ali Liebert.
Helping to kick off the 13-episode fourth season is a pre-show special on Showcase. What’s more, Showcase.ca has a four-part original web series comprised of short vignettes that bridge the story between seasons three and four.
Lost Girl has boasted one of the most loyal fan bases on television since the show debuted all the way back in 2010. Viewers always have been eager to embrace Anna Silk’s Bo.
Just don’t kiss her, though. Immediate pleasure notwithstanding, it won’t end well for you.
