While Prince William is away, the Duchess of Cambridge won’t be playing – she’s got work to do.
The U.K. Ministry of Defence said Thursday Prince William has arrived in the Falkland Islands for his six-week tour there for search and rescue training.
And while he’s away, his wife Kate will be getting down to royal duties, carrying out her first solo public engagement on Wednesday. She will visit the National Portrait Gallery in London on Wednesday, followed by a trip to Liverpool on Valentine’s Day. She is going to Liverpool to support the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the charity Action on Addiction.
She is also expected to get involved with the Scout Association in North Wales, where she and Wills currently live.
