Around this time of year, people are often discussing the North Pole, given that’s where Santa lives.

But today, it’s all about the South Pole.

Prince Harry and a group of wounded soldiers who have been walking across Antarctica have arrived at the South Pole, the BBC reports.

The race element of the event was scrapped because it was putting unnecessary strain on those taking part. Instead, the group worked together to get to the South Pole, which they reached at noon GMT after three weeks.

“A half-day on Friday and we get to the South Pole on Friday 13th, unlucky for some, lucky for us,” Prince Harry said in a blog post which was recorded Wednesday.

What a joke. How many Vegas gals and guys were with him? Carried him? Oh come on, please, even my Great grandmother could reach these poles with the support and million dollar equipment the taxpayers paid for this trek. Its significance is what? How many starving people in Africa does this help? Landmine victims in Cambodia where Diana helped? Anything? Oh well, pin on a few more medals on the old boys and print some more money with his photo. For what? Mind boggling shameful. All that money and resources and effort could have helped a lot of people.
