The Duchess of Cambridge has released photos she took during a recent tour to Borneo.
It’s well known Kate has a keen interest in photography. The royal wedding photographer said she had a hand in setting up some of the posed photos on her big day.
While the photos from her trip are nice, they’re nothing special, one pro told the Daily Mail.
“‘It’s a good first effort and full marks to her for putting them out there and inviting critique, that is very brave as an amateur, but technically they are not brilliant,” Harry Page tells the paper.
I was surprised by the black and white shots, given the colours in the jungle must have been so vibrant. Page said it looks like the photos were altered to make them black and white, which means “they lose a lot of impact.”
To be fair, some of these shots were taken as she was flying above an area – she may have snapped better shots if she had the time to set up properly.
Page had some advice for Kate: “Get some proper lessons from a professional photographer. She is in such a privileged position and will spend the rest of her life travelling around the world with unique access to the most amazing sites, a few professional pointers would enable her to make the most of her potential.”
