Into the vineyard

(Yes we know it’s not wine. It’s the Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre, near Osoyoos, B.C., one of many stops on Into the Vineyard’s Okanagan Wine and Road Bike trek.)

Would you prefer The Whirl? The Contrast? The Counter-Culturalist? The Rule Breaker? How about the Introvert?

Into the Vineyard is giving people a chance to find out.

The company, based in Vancouver is offering exclusive access to top wineries and chefs, spanning from the Okanagan to South Africa.

Instead of just booking a hotel, and a couple of winery tours in Kelowna, why not cycle through the region, stopping at several vineyards over several days?

Or how about a visit to a Chilean winery with seven friends? Into the Vineyard has that covered.

“It’s about more than just wine. It’s an immersion in the region itself,” says Colin Simpson, General Manager of Into the Vineyard and wine travel expert. “It’s about getting away from the bus tour crowds and getting behind closed doors.”

The trips give people access that wouldn’t come with a normal winery tour, including “immersion in winemaking techniques, exclusive meetings with wine-makers and chefs and one-of-a-kind excursions: By foot, by bike, by car or by cruise,” according to a company news release.

This sort of trip isn’t cheap, the Okanagan trek is north of a $2,000 per person, but for true oenophiles, it’s hard to beat that kind of access.
