Jimmy Rollins told a fan to ‘shut the f— up’ last night

- April 13th, 2014

Deserved or not, Philly fans have a bad reputation. It’s what happens when you allegedly boo Santa Claus.

Whenever the Philadelphia Phillies are bad, the hecklers inside Citizens Bank Park multiply faster than flies. The fans, as Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins put it, can be “ignorant” at times.

Which makes hitting a walk-off bomb amid a hail storm of insults that much sweeter.

That’s what Rollins did Saturday night in the bottom of the 10th inning, shutting up an overzealous fan behind the dugout in the process.

After sending a pitch from Miami Marlins reliever Dan Jennings into the left-field stands, Rollins hit back.

Did he just say what I think he said?

We’ll let Rollins have the final say.

The Phillies haven’t made the MLB playoffs since 2011, which has seen fan discontent steadily rise the last three seasons.
