The late, great Egon Spengler would be proud of the Toledo Mud Hens.
The triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers is going all out on May 30 and wearing ‘Ghostbusters’ themed uniforms to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the blockbuster film — and, of course, to pay tribute to Harold Ramis, who passed away earlier this week at age 69.
According to the team’s official website, fans will be able to bid on the slimed-up jerseys in a silent auction.
This is just one of 10 amazing promotions the farm team has lined up this season.
Some other notable dates are:
May 10, Star Wars Night
(Yes that’s a Mud Hens’ Chewbacca top from last season.)
Seinfeld (August 14), Superhero (June 28), and Hens and Hounds night (August 26) also sound like a lot of fun.
I would be remissed if I didn’t give a shout out to last season’s hot dog themed tops.
