Seven no-hitters, 5,714 strikeouts, 324 wins.
Ceremonial first pitches? One passed ball.
It’s safe to say the Houston Astros haven’t seen Nolan Ryan’s stuff in a few seasons.
The Hall of Famer was asked to throw out the first pitch for the Astros’ opening game against the New York Yankees on Tuesday.
The MLB’s all-time leader in strikeouts, and current Astros executive, clearly has been out of the game for too long.
In case you needed a reminder, Ryan is also the all-time leader in walks.
Regardless, it probably wasn’t as bad as Carly Rae Jepson’s preposterous pitch in Tampa Bay.
