Robinson Cano helps Jimmy Fallon prank Yankee fans

- April 29th, 2014

Robinson Cano left the bright lights of New York for better coffee in Seattle, and a whole lot of money.

He signed a free-agent contract with the Seattle Mariners worth $240 million for 10 years this past off season.

So there’s no way Cano didn’t think loyal Yankee fans would resent him for abandoning the team for the money, right?

On Tuesday, at Yankee Stadium, Robinson Cano will get his chance to take in the New York fans response as his Mariners are in town to play a three game series.

Robinson just couldn’t wait until Tuesday to hear the boos though, so he dropped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to play a trick on Yankee fans.

Jimmy Fallon set up a cardboard cutout of Cano and got Yankee fans to boo at it.

Little did they know that Robinson was standing behind the cutout waiting to greet them.

You could say the fans were caught off guard.

The Yankees are currently on top of the AL East with a record of 15-10, and the Mariners have a record of 10-15, which is good for fourth in the AL West.

Robinson Cano has only one home run this season so far, but at least he knows New York is still behind him, at least face-to-face.
