Spring training is full of shenanigans.
The 2014 MLB pre-season is virtually over and it appears the Minnesota Twins have produced the year’s best prank.
With manager Ron Gardenhire running point, the Twins fooled 6-foot-7 pitcher Mike Pelfrey into thinking he was delivering a pump-up speech to the Wichita State Shockers basketball team.
Gardenhire convinced Pelfrey he was on the phone with the NCAA squad.
He definitely wasn’t:
The Shockers entered the national tournament as the Midwest’s No. 1 seed. They bowed out to No. 8 Kentucky in the second round.
