Looks like Drizzy won’t be sharing pound cake with Hova anytime soon.
Drake, ambassador for the Toronto Raptors, went on TSN during the 3rd quarter of the club’s Eastern Conference quarterfinal opener up against the Brookyln Nets — which Jay-Z formerly had a minority stake in — and threw some jabs toward the Brooklyn-born rapper.
“Jay-Z is somewhere eating a fondue plate,” Drake joked as he talked with Raptors broadcasters Matt Devlin and Jack Armstrong.
The remark stems from comments Drake made about Jay-Z’s high-end lifestyle to Rolling Stone in February.
“It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references. I would love to collect at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny,” he said.
Hov responded by calling out Drake in a recent song saying, “Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art/Silly me, rappin’ ’bout s— that I really bought/While these rappers rap about guns that they ain’t shot/And a bunch of other silly s— that they ain’t got.”
It would appear as though the two hip-hop artists won’t be coming together to make music again anytime soon, no matter who wins this series.
