Fans asked to congratulate Sterling on NAACP award on Kimmel

- April 30th, 2014

The fact that Donald Sterling was set to get a lifetime achievement award from the NAACP, prior to his lifetime ban from the NBA, seemed like quite the joke.

Turns out funny man Jimmy Kimmel thought so, too.

The late-night talk show host aired a hilarious two-minute segment asking fans outside the Staples Center (where the LA Clippers play) to congratulate Sterling on his award — he didn’t actually receive — from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

By the looks of it, they weren’t in a hurry to say anything remotely positive.

“We would give him the a-kick-in-the-behind award.”

That sums it up nicely.

Sterling, of course, will not be receiving the award after he was recorded making racist comments towards minorities, an incident he’ll likely lose his franchise for.
