If boxing fans didn’t already know Puerto Rican featherweight Orlando Cruz is gay, they will after Saturday night’s Vegas title fight.
We wrote about Cruz, 32, back in August when he proposed to his longtime boyfriend José Manuel (he said yes) over Facebook.
Now, two days out from his WBO title fight, Cruz has revealed his colours for Saturday night’s tango with Mexican contender Orlando Salido: Rainbow.
A USA Today report revealed Cruz will also be wearing pink gloves for breast cancer awareness.

Cruz became the first openly gay boxer last October when he released a statement, referring to himself as a “proud gay man.”
He’s unbeaten in two fights since coming out, moving his professional record to 20-2-1.
Since then, multiple athletes have come out as gay, including the Los Angles Galaxy’s Robbie Rogers and NBA centre Jason Collins.
Additionally, there’s rampant speculation that a small group of gay NFLers are weighing whether or not to go public with their homosexuality.
