Aussie hockey player’s obnoxious goal celebration

- August 24th, 2014

The first logical question: They play hockey in Australia?

Well, yes. It turns out the Aussies even have their own semi-professional league, the Australian Ice Hockey League.

It has eight teams – seven on the east coast with Perth in the west.

And it just so happens Perth has a showboater named Ric Del Basso, who scored the game-winner against the Melbourne Ice this weekend in the sixth round of a shootout.

After scoring, though, he rubbed it in a bit further when he glided across the ice on his helmet.

Apparently they do things different Down Under.

Had he been in North America he likely would have been made to fight.

They went after him in the next game.

You have Mike Pyke here in the AFL who won a Championship with Sydney but you guys ignore him.

Apparently you also play rugby in Canada? Who would’ve guessed.

I was at that game. Having played myself in a game for my team here in Melbourne just before this one, I guarantee that the Melbourne Ice Players all think that this guys has no class as well as most of the 2500 or so people in attendance.
