Brian Burke was up to his usual antics during Thursday’s Calgary Flames press conference addressing the firing of general manager Jay Feaster.

The club’s hockey operations president/interim GM covered topics like the importance of truculence, employing players with a certain level of “beef” in their game, and other Burkie-isms.

But Burke’s kids — Molly and Patrick — stole the show online.

With Papa Burke looking like a man who hadn’t slept in weeks, the kids poked fun at his disheveled hairdo on Twitter.

He is a disgrace to the brand of the Flames and to the city of Ca;lgary whom he is suppossed to represent.
He looks low class, he acts low class and that is the image he protreays for Calgary.
GET SOME CLASS, act like you have somw respect for the brand and the city you represent.
HE is totally low class and is holding Monahan from playing with Cdn. Juniors because he is an American.
He is a disgrace on every level and has no respect for our city , our fans or the Flames. !!!!!
He only won a Cup with a team he was given, has never won anywhere when it was his call!

Butttt, do you agree with the Feaster firing?

Feaster had to go, but the timing seemed off in a way. It should have been done at the end of last season really. As for Burke running the team, its a little embarrassing for an organization to hire a guy to “consult” the next GM. I think any experienced GM would probably not want Burkies advice, I think he would only be good for some former star player “Yes” man like a Joe Nieuwendyke or a Brett Hull type that can fall on the sword when Burkies advice ruins the team.

Agreed. The whole Burke-Feaster situation was awkward from the start. I think it’ll take a certain kind of GM to work alongside Burke effectively.
