Canucks’ Bieksa punts opponent’s helmet in fit of rage after lopsided loss

- November 30th, 2013

Really.

Who could blame Canucks defenceman Kevin Bieksa for the following over-the-top reaction?

After being manhandled during Saturday’s matinee at Madison Square Garden, Bieksa did what any self-respecting NHLer would do: attempt to save face by coming to blows with the other team’s man mountain before punting his opponent’s helmet across the ice.

So much for sportsmanship.

Ever heard of losing gracefully, Mr. Bieksa?

Jokes aside, it’s usually junior coaches who are seen whining, kicking and hurling things across the ice on a near-monthly basis.

Following Vancouver’s 5-2 loss to the Rangers, though, it was Bieksa who drop-kicked Brian Boyle’s headgear across the ice.

Next logical question: Which was worse… Bieksa’s punt attempt, or Boyle’s moustache?

You decided below …

I guess Kevin Bieksa can do whatever he wishes since he kicked the crap out of Boyle.

How about Boyle’s attempt to kick Bieksa? No mention of that?
