Don Cherry knows how to share an anecdote from his time behind the bench.

The face of Hockey Night in Canada paid tribute to former NHL defenceman Carol Vadnais, who died Sunday at the age of 68. Cherry coached Vadnais during their time with the Boston Bruins in the 1970s.

We’ll let Grapes tell this little gem, revealing the class act that Vadnais was outside the rink:

Vadnais won two Stanley Cup championships with the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins in a career that spanned 1,087 games over 17 seasons.
