Dustin Penner likely didn’t see the hit coming. And if he did, there was no time to brace for it.

The Anaheim Ducks winger took a shot to the head by Ryan Garbutt following a quick shot on the Dallas net after the Stars forward clocked him in the slot at about 5:28 of the second period of Sunday night’s game. The hit immediately left him unconscious before he was helped off the ice.

No penalty was called on the play but a suspension could be forthcoming to Garbutt, as he was offered an in-person hearing.

Ban or not, Penner took matters into his own hands by hitting back at his critics on Twitter. He chirped back at various comments with his first-hand version of events. And the results are hilarious.
