Flyers’ Brayden Schenn takes skate to stomach, scores winner

- January 7th, 2014

Here’s another example of why hockey players are some of the toughest athletes on the planet.

Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn’s abdomen was sliced by the skate of New Jersey Devils forward Dainius Zubrus during Tuesday’s clash at the Prudential Center.

How did Schenn respond?

Patch me up. Just stop the bleeding. I’ll be fine.

Thankfully it appears the cut wasn’t deep, but it easily could have been much, much worse.

Oh, and to top things off, Schenn scored the overtime game-winner.

What a beauty.
