The New York Islanders are always stirring, well, you-know-what up.
After grabbing forward Michael Dal Colle from the Oshawa Generals 5th overall at the NHL draft Friday, the Islanders selected Windsor Spitfires standout Josh Ho-Sang late in the first round.
Ho-Sang had been under fire leading up to the draft in Philadelphia, after he was quoted saying “If I was a general manager and had the first pick in the draft, I’d take me No. 1″.
Many teams passed on the skilled yet clearly cocky forward.
But it didn’t take Isles GM Garth Snow long to tell us all how he feels about the pick.
TSN brought Snow on for a quick hit after the Ho-Sang selection, and host James Duthie asked him about the doubt recently cast over the 28th overall pick.
Well I wouldn’t say that ALL the media dumps on you Garth, but after dropping a bomb like that on national TV, I’m sure you’ll be getting a fresh spoonful from the local New York media in the near future.
The good news for Ho-Sang is that the Islanders are moving to Brooklyn, so his swagger will be well received in the hippest place on the planet.
