Kings star Drew Doughty’s priceless reaction to Game 7 win

- June 2nd, 2014

The joy of winning a Game 7 in overtime can sometimes be too much to bear. Emotions tend to take over.

Basically, you lose your freaking mind.

Just like Los Angeles Kings defenceman Drew Doughty and his over-the-top celebration after teammate Alec Martinez clinched ‘em a spot in the Stanley Cup final Saturday night.

This clip has it all. The howl. The chest-thumping — in this case, glass-banging — toward the Chicago Blackhawks bench. And then the finale. So jacked up on adrenaline is Doughty he stumbles over the boards.

It is the raw pleasure of winning.

I think Doughty’s great. Just what the game needs. I wish the Leafs had a player like him. But, the Leaf organization is too cheap and gutless to go after guys like this.
